Love or Charity? Although the New International Version and other modern versions of the Corinthians Love is Patient Love is Kind Bible Verse are often used to describe the ideal love between a man and a woman, the King James Version of Corinthians reminds us that the kind of Love being described is the universal love of all people - which KJV translates with the word Charity.
Regardless of the original meaning of the Bible Verse, the NIV translation of the Corinthians Love is Patient Love is Kind quote does make a wonderful statement about ideal romantic love as well as a statement about universal love (charity).
Love is patient, love is kind. |
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; |
